Hi fabulous !
My name is Jessica
I'm a researcher,
slow-fashion advocate,
gender & climate activist,
and digital marketing entrepreneur.
Five years ago, I made the courageous decision to leave my home country and move 13,500 kilometers away. Despite the challenges, I embraced the opportunity for growth and change.
I've always encountered difficulty in finding a space that encompasses sustainable, slow-fashion, fashion trends and lifestyle recommendations all in one place. That's why I decided to take matters into my own hands and create a platform where I can share my insights and promote brands that align with my values.
From minimalist lifestyle, wellness tips to embracing the quiet life, you'll find it all here.
I started my online business as I burn desire for financial freedom and independence.
I found myself on an unexpected path when I moved abroad in pursuit of my Ph.D studies in Canada in 2019.
Five years ago, I made the bold decision to leave my home country and move 13,500 kilometers away. It was a daunting leap, leaving behind the life I had carefully crafted by the age of 29 – my friends, family, and familiar routines. In this new land, I found myself navigating not just a new culture and environment, but also confronting power dynamics rooted in gender, race, and class. It was a profound journey of self-discovery and adaptation. Yet, amidst the challenges, I found solace in the warmth of remarkable individuals, both in my professional and academic circles.
You may be wondering why I'm sharing my story with you. Since 2015, I've been an entrepreneur, but my life took a transformative turn when I moved abroad. I found myself grappling with a loss of financial independence, restricted social connections, and a decline in my mental well-being. For four years, amidst the chaos of two pandemic-stricken years, I toiled away, driven by the fear of financial insecurity
PLUS, I AM AN INTROVERT. From a young age, I've always been more comfortable observing the world around me rather than being the center of attention. As an introverted researcher, I thrived in the solitude of libraries and research labs, immersing myself in reading, in data analysis and academic pursuits. Having had the opportunity to work in marketing, I often found myself drawn to the intricacies of digital marketing and the potential it held for creating passive income streams.
When I was in Dubaï and Europe in December 2023, I stumbled upon a revolutionary idea that could revolutionize the way introvert women like me connect with the digital world and make passive income : Affiliate marketing for for brands I trust
This reality, I've come to learn, is all too common for international students and immigrants. Yet, I refuse to let it define me. I've learned that starting anew, no matter the circumstances, is not only possible but also empowering. Despite the skepticism of colleagues and friends, I persisted.
Then, a pivotal moment arrived. Women and fellow immigrants, who shared similar journeys, sought my guidance in their pursuit of digital entrepreneurship projects.
As an introvert, black woman navigating a foreign land, an online business is a way to transcend geographical boundaries and societal limitations. It offers the freedom to showcase our talents, share our unique perspective, and connect with a global audience on my own terms.
This journey is just the start of something fabulous!
